ACA QLD/NT seeks new Executive Officer

The Queensland/Northern Territory branch of the ACA is seeking a dynamic and organised Executive Officer to support our volunteer-led committee and engage with the architectural community across QLD and NT. This flexible part-time role (12 to 20 hours spread across the week) is ideal for professionals with administrative and event coordination experience who are passionate about architecture and design.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a flexible, home-based role that works around your existing commitments. You’ll collaborate with our dedicated QLD/NT committee – comprised of representatives from small, medium and large architecture practices – and connect with our national ACA team.
Meeting & administration
- Prepare Committee meeting agendas and minutes
- Coordinate Committee meetings including calendar invites and venue arrangements
- Participate in monthly Executive Officer meetings and others as required
- Assist Branch Treasurer with annual budget preparation and financial queries
Event management
- Manage an annual calendar of events including industry luncheons, site visits, end-of-year drinks, and Business of Small Practice (BoSP) sessions
- Coordinate venues, budgets and suppliers such as photographers
- Manage invitations for sponsors, VIPs and guests
- Draft speech notes and event scripts
Communication & marketing
- Develop marketing material for events and initiatives
- Collaborate with the Branch President, Committee and ACA editorial team to contribute updates to the national newsletter
- Maintain database of VIPs, sponsors, and industry contacts
- Engage with corporate partners and sponsors
- Welcome all new members and respond to member inquiries
- Foster strong relationships with corporate partners and sponsors
Industry engagement
- Serve as a key liaison between QLD/NT members and the Committee
- Assist with membership renewals and queries
- Support efforts to strengthen connections with industry stakeholders and related professions
- Stay informed on broader industry trends and activities
About you
You are a self-starter with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. You enjoy working with people, building networks, and supporting a values-driven professional community. Experience in event planning, stakeholder communication, or similar administrative roles will be highly regarded.
