Project: Wyndham Vale Primary School, Architect: Haskell Architects, Photographer: Rhiannon Slatter

Are you interested in securing state educational work or simply understanding more about the process and what is required? Then join us on Wednesday 26 September to learn all there is to know about the VSBA process for capital works.

How do architects procure projects? What is the process for delivering a VSBA project? How does NatSpec work with VSBA projects? Here is your chance to learn from the experts, with an enlightening presentation on how to navigate the VSBA process from Neville Boyd from the Victorian School Building Authority, Richard Choy from NatSpec and Jennifer Cocks from Minx Architecture.

Important topics on the agenda include pre-qualification requirements; the different streams of the VSBA (such as Major Projects, planned maintenance, standard projects etc); how the selection process works; an overview of the various stages (eg AMP 2, SD, DD etc) with requirements and expectations; program and timeframe requirements; project management requirements; the financial responsibilities of the architect; the importance of the Building Quality Standards Handbook; performance reviews of consultants; the different arrangements with project managers and quantity surveyors; and the current VSBA process in relation to post-occupancy evaluation.
