ACA - WA Survey - How effective are DAP and DAC processes?
What are your experiences of the WA Development Assessment Panel (DAP) and local authority Design Advisory Committees? Please come along to the panel discussion on 29 August.
ACA – WA is keen to hear the views of members on the effectiveness, or otherwise, of the current WA Development Assessment Panel (DAP) and local authority Design Advisory (DAC) processes in Western Australia, which operate under a range of titles, including Design Advisory Committee, Design Review Panels and Design Review Committee.
This will assist ACA – WA to prepare a submission to government on both DAP and DACs.
It is the view of ACA – WA that the current DAP process is effective and beneficial in many circumstances. It is also our view that Design Advisory groups within local government have the potential to provide effective and beneficial advice to local government, and can even assist in ensuring the effective passage of potentially contentious project proposals.
We acknowledge, however, that ACA members have differing experiences of the DAP and Design Advisory processes and, as a result, there is a wide range of views as to their effectiveness.
