Banking survey
The ACA needs your help to advocate for fair contracts!
Have you have been involved in a project that has been impacted by the banks’ resistance to loan against ABIC or AS contracts?
We want to hear from you, whether that impact was large or small.
As you may be aware, some Australian banks are unwilling to approve construction loans where ABIC or Australian Standard (AS) contracts are used. This is a serious situation with many negative effects for the architecture profession, our clients and the built environment.
To address this, the ACA is collaborating with the Australian Institute of Architects and Architeam on a submission to the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. We hope that this will encourage banks to improve these policies.
An essential element of this submission will be a summary of the actual effects on architects, builders, our clients and projects. To do this, we need to gather information and testimonials from architects. We want to quantify the value of construction work at risk and identify the ways in which individual architecture studios are affected. Please help by telling us about your experiences.
