Lunch with MATES in Construction

10 October 2018

Join ACA – WA and Cbus on 2 November for a ‘Lunch and Learn’ about mental health on site and in practice.

MATES in Construction is a peer support program developed nearly 10 years ago that seeks to reduce the construction industry’s suicide toll and improve mental health. The program is active in five states and is being rolled out in other sectors including mining, energy and rail. A core element of the MATES program is the 50-minute General Awareness Training that is provided to workers on site, but is equally applicable to architects working in practice, pressured by the constraints of cost and time.

Over lunch, MATES have kindly offered to conduct a GAT session for ACA members, through which attendees will be provided with some of the skills to identify someone who is in need of support and how to provide it.
