Lacrosse Fire Judgment webinar18 March 2019
On 11 April, informed by Planned Cover is running a national webinar on the Lacrosse Tower Fire Judgment and its implications for the construction industry.
On 28 February 2019, the much-anticipated judgment in the Lacrosse Tower litigation was handed down in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
The landmark case involved numerous consultants who, together with the builder, were joined to the litigation as a result of their involvement in the design and construction of the Lacrosse building. The judgment considered the liability of the architect, the builder, the building surveyor, the fire engineer, and the occupier and resident of the apartment where the fire started. As expected, the decision has already generated much discussion within the construction industry, particularly by those involved in novated projects.
For an analysis of the judgment with Sarah Metcalfe, Special Counsel, Norton Rose Fulbright, join this national webinar, hosted by informed. Sarah was part of the architect’s legal team and will provide her insights into the roles of the various parties on the project, the expert evidence relied upon by the parties, the decision of Judge Woodward, and the implications for the construction industry.
