SA Practice Managers Lunch

21 September 2018

Are you guilty of putting your IT security needs in the too-hard basket? Come along to the ACA – SA Practice Managers Lunch on 25 October to hear the latest cybersecurity advice from the experts.

Maintaining IT security should be key to any business, yet keeping abreast of threats and vulnerabilities is often not seen as a critical part of your business. Unfortunately, increasingly complex threats mean that traditional methods of protection are no longer enough. With recent advances in threats which are programmed to automatically exploit any number of known vulnerabilities on the intended target network, businesses are under increased pressure to maintain IT systems to a much higher level.

At our Practice Managers Lunch on 25 October, Shun Tokimoto and Simon Maginnity from Datacom will talk about these new threats and outline the key differences between threats, vulnerabilities, exploits and what businesses need to do to maintain IT security. Shun and Simon will discuss the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Essential 8 and will answer questions about how some of these key principles could be applied to ACA business members.

Where does insurance fit in? What products are available to assist over and above risk management techniques? We will also have Cos Cirocco from Planned Cover there to talk through the types of insurance and policies available to protect you in the event of an attack.
