VIC/TAS February Update

Matthew Tence provides an update on ACA – VIC/TAS plans for the year.

In early February, the ACA – VIC/TAS Committee held a planning meeting to commence the year.

The key outcomes of our meeting this year were to:

• Consolidate our reach on the back of the great work undertaken on tools, events and communications in past years; and
• Re-establish our subcommittees and clarify their intent, purpose and agenda.

Over the next month, our subcommittees will establish their plans for the year ahead.

The Events, Marketing, Sponsorship and Communications subcommittee will focus on running our events calendar, key marketing and sponsorship opportunities and communications to Vic/Tas members.

The ACA Tools subcommittee will help further develop, refine and improve our existing and new tools, where the Vic/Tas Branch is taking leadership.

The Industrial Relations / Human Resources subcommittee will focus on advice, advocacy and communication regarding industrial relations matters relevant to members.

On events, it was clear in our planning session that we would like to run four to five events in 2019, with the first in March or April. We are also looking at opportunities to expand our event program in Tasmania. Keep your eyes on your inboxes for individual invitations to each event.

We would welcome any input or suggestions from members on tools, advice, events or areas of running a business for which they would like more assistance.

We are also looking for more broader support on Industrial Relations / Human Resources matters and if any members would like to help, please get in touch.

Lastly, the recent events on Spencer Street highlight the ongoing issues that remain with combustible cladding and I refer you to a series of articles the ACA has recently run on building product compliance, including a new piece on the key findings of the Non-conforming Building Products Senate Report.
