Brisbane BoSP Launch

The ACA is excited to launch the Business of Small Practice series in Brisbane. These casual, relationship-focused events are aimed at providing radical transparency to help you ground your practice and grow it sustainably – whatever that looks like for you.

We are kicking off with Kate Fitzgerald from Whispering Smith and Rebecca Caldwell from Maytree Studios for the launch night on Friday 14 June.

BOOK NOW!

Kate Fitzgerald (Whispering Smith) will be sharing her experience launching BoSP in WA in 2018 and the impact this has had. Her vibrant practice blends traditional practice with development and an entrepreneurial spirit. Co-host of the In-Detail podcast, vice president of the ACA WA and champion of recent medium density advocacy, she will generously share her experience of growing her business over 13 years. You will love Kate’s frank and honest discussion of the highs and lows of architectural practice.

Host Rebecca Caldwell (Maytree Studios) is passionate about finding a way to bring architecture within reach of more people. She achieves this through open and informative communication, a warm and empathetic practice and a solid commitment to talking about money – even when its uncomfortable. She’s not above making a joke or dropping a swear word to get her point across – that good design, good practice management and great customer service are all vital aspects of a thriving business.

At the BoSP launch, Rebecca will introduce why she thinks this group is vital for building a positive design community. After many one-on-one conversations with other architects discussing fees, proposals, employment and clients, she’s keen to create an environment that gives people a forum to discuss this in an open way that fosters growth for everyone.

We are welcoming submission for topics you would love to hear about or speak on. A box will be provided on the evening for submissions and ideas! We will wrap up the night with food and drinks and live music in the courtyard at Maytree Studios.
