Energy efficiency expert Tori Walker will join architect Andrew Noonan to share practical insights from the frontlines of sustainable residential design. You’ll also hear from architects Morgan Jenkins, Leah Gallagher and Andrew Keeffe as they present recent projects and discuss how they have overcome real compliance challenges without compromising design integrity.
As many of us grapple with balancing beautiful design and regulatory pressure, this session aims to foster learning from one another. Expect honest discussions, practical insights, and an opportunity to ask questions and share solutions. Let’s figure this out together!

Attendance and submission of the self-checked assessment task will deliver 1 formal CPD point.
PC45 – Be able to nominate and integrate quality and performance standards with regard to selected materials, finishes, fittings, components and systems, considering the impact on Country and the environment, and the whole life carbon impact of the project. This includes integrating life cycle assessments and other expertise and advice from consultants.
SPEAKERS
Tori Walker
Tori brings over two decades of expertise in energy-efficient residential design as Principal Consultant at BERA. A certified NatHERS Assessor (Certificate IV) and recognised thermal performance expert, she serves on the Design Matters National Board, where her insights help shape industry standards.
Andrew Noonan
Andrew is an award-winning architect and councillor on the AIA QLD Climate Action and Sustainability Committee, where he advocates for the critical role that architecture plays in shaping a more resilient and prosperous future for people, communities and the environment.
Panellists
Morgan Jenkins (Nielsen Jenkins), Leah Gallagher (Kin Architects), and Andrew Keeffe (Maytree Studios) will present PechaKucha presentations featuring recent projects. Each will share their approaches to navigating compliance hurdles while maintaining design excellence.
