On 18 June, attendees will enjoy a presentation and tour of 1 William Street, the first building in Queensland to achieve both 6 star Greenstar As Built and Performance ratings, and the Winner of the 2019 Property Council of Australia Queensland Development of the Year Award.
Positioned at the fringe of the Brisbane CBD, 1 William Street is a striking 46-level tower intended to be a symbol of Queensland’s strong sense of purpose, identity and confidence in its future.
Key to the client’s brief was the creation of a compelling workplace to unify workplace culture and transform the operations of the Queensland Public Service. The innovative procurement method conducted by the State of Queensland has resulted in a purpose-built workplace of international standards.
Innovative features include facade sunshades that adjust depending on aspect and sun exposure, automatic blind controls, rainwater and condensation collection for landscape irrigation and life energy regeneration.

Michelle Fitzgerald is Cbus Property’s Development Manager for 443 Queen Street and the recently completed 1 William Street. Before joining Cbus Property in 2013, Michelle commenced her career in architectural practice after successfully achieving an honours degree in Architecture from the University of Queensland.
