Hobart event with Rodney Dillon

9 August 2023

The ACA is delighted to host a free lunch event in Hobart on Monday 14 August featuring guest speaker Rodney Dillon, Palawa Elder and Chair of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Heritage Council, who will present on the Voice to Parliament. Also in attendance will be the ACA CEO, Presidents and team from around the country, who look forward to catching up with Tasmanian members and others working in the built environment.

BOOK NOW

This event will be the culmination of a two-day strategic meeting of our national team, and will include an update on the ACA’s advocacy work from National President John Held, Victoria/Tasmania Branch President Paul Viney and CEO Angelina Pillai. Come along to meet our Branch Presidents from around the country, our broader national team and fellow Tasmanian ACA members.

We are also proud to be joined by guest speaker Rodney Dillon, a Palawa Elder, Member of the PM’s First Nations Referendum Working Group and Chair of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Heritage Council and Indigenous Advisor to Amnesty International.

Recent changes to the National Standard of Competencies for Architects require us to improve our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. The ACA is committed to assisting our members with this endeavour. We are delighted that Rodney will join us to share his thoughts on the Voice to Parliament and its potential impact on First Nations people. We encourage members to attend this event to build your understanding of the Voice and walk more confidently towards the referendum.
