Join the SA Practice Admin Group!

18 August 2017

The ACA – SA Practice Administrators Group meets regularly to share knowledge, views and experiences. New members welcome.

The group meets for lunch and conversation three to four times a year in central Adelaide, focusing on the issues and challenges relevant to the day to day running of a practice. Topics of discussion range from practice management software and equipment to HR issues and insurance choices.

‘I enjoy the sense of community that comes with meeting and knowing my peers. It’s nice to know the other people out there facing the same sorts of issues that I have. It’s very helpful to have a group we can get feedback from. For example, a while back I asked the group about their experiences with management liability insurance. We also now have some excellent HR advisors, Aspire, as a result of a recommendation; and Darren ran through a demo of etrack some time ago. So, thank you guys! I really appreciate our little community. It’s great to know you all.’ — Heather Spinelli, Practice Manager, Architects Ink

‘The Practice Admin Group has opened up opportunities to discuss various aspects of our industry with our peers. We are knowledge sharing in a proactive environment with like-minded individuals without disclosing confidential information.’ — Jane Steinke, Walter Brooke and Associates

‘The Practice Admin Group has been an opportunity to share common challenges with people in a similar role to myself, particularly concerning software options, insurance, HR issues, printer hardware and project management reporting.’ — Matthew Thomas, Principal, JPE Design Studio

The most recent catch-up was in June, when the group explored the decision-making process involved when selecting a new practice management software. Michelle Wearne from Russell and Yelland talked the group through the process her firm went through when deciding on new software, which opened up a further discussion about what different practices were looking for.

New members are very welcome. Contact Sascha Byrne at sa@aca.org.au or 0417 380 492 to join the group or to find out more information.
