NSW Government Advocacy

Steve Kennedy , 13 August 2015

An update on ACA – NSW / ACT advocacy with the NSW state government.

Steve Kennedy, with Australian Institute of Architects’ NSW Chapter President Shaun Carter, met with the NSW Minister for Finance and Services, Dominic Perrottet, on Wednesday 22 July.

They discussed a range of issues including the future of the NSW Government Architects Office and the ACA’s ongoing concerns regarding government policies with respect to procurement and contracting of architectural services.

The Minister was both receptive and interested.

Following up the discussion, the ACA and the Institute have now written to the Minister outlining the key issues we see as being of critical importance. Steve also made several suggestions to the Minister regarding these issues and is aware that the Minister’s office has already commenced acting on some of those suggestions.
