Retaining Architecture Talent

11 November 2021

Finding and keeping the right people in architecture practice is a constant challenge, but particularly so in the current climate. Join the ACA, Deltek and DesignInc Sydney on 24 November to learn about attracting and retaining top talent for your practice.

In this new world of work, many architecture firms have not only changed how they operate, but also recognise the need to transform their approach to attracting and retaining top talent, ensuring you have the right people, on the right projects to deliver your best work. Talent is critical. For successful architecture practices, projects are only as strong as the people behind them.

If you are looking for ways to attract or retain top talent in your practice, this session is for you!

Scott Huston and Tara Keast will present an in-depth look at best practices for managing talent, covering the following:

  • The top challenges and initiatives when acquiring, developing and retaining talent
  • How you can implement firm-wide initiatives to improve employee retention
  • Why investments in tools, transparency and talent transformation can yield positive returns for your architecture practice

Speakers

Scott Huston

Scott is a Studio Manager at DesignInc Sydney with over 20 years’ experience in Operations Management and IT. First and foremost, he is a problem solver. Macro or micro, software or business based, Scott can assess any issue and remain solutions focused.

He recently oversaw the logistics and project management of DesignInc’s office relocation and fitout and in response to the COVID-19 lockdowns swiftly moved the business to a distributed teams / work-from-home model – and was equally involved in the return to office/hybrid model the business is currently operating under. Scott is an invaluable asset to a business’s culture and performance.

Tara Keast

Tara is the HR Manager for DesignInc Sydney and has 15 years working in the industry. Tara is responsible for managing the operational and strategic HR functions of the organisation. Her key focus is to shape, champion, drive and embed the HR agenda by partnering with the business to support the organisation to assist in delivering pragmatic HR solutions to meet business needs.
