SA Branch Update - May 2020
The SA Committee has been focused on events, advocacy and engagement with government and industry and, in particular, with ongoing discussions relating to Government procurement policy.
Key initiatives include involvement in industry meetings with the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI), engineering and quantity surveying representatives around the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on consultants and their businesses.
We have also initiated discussions on the benefits of cascading engagement of sub-consultants in smaller projects, which has resulted in a pilot project being run by DPTI and the potential for a working group to be established to further finetune a working model for broader implementation.
During the COVID-19 crisis, we have run a series of ‘virtual roundtables’ with our members, touching on everything from team wellbeing, technology, workload and productivity and site attendance.
We are now moving towards the future, how will it look, what will we do differently and how the ACA can support member practices as we settle into the new normal.
