SA Roundtable - Non-conforming Building Products

19 September 2017

How should architects respond to the use of non-conforming building products? Join ACA – SA and Planned Cover at a roundtable exploring the issues.

Aluminium composite cladding and non-conforming building products have been regular contributors to media headlines for the last two and a half years. And yet the volume of reporting can make it a challenge to separate the speculation and rumour from the officially verified facts. (See the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand explanation of the difference between non-compliant and non-conforming products.)

Wendy Poulton and Cos Cirocco from Planned Cover will provide an update on the state of investigations into the Lacrosse Building fire, and consider the impact of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

This roundtable is an opportunity to share your experiences. What forms of proof of NCC compliance do you look for? When do you bring in specialists? How does novation or a ‘partial services’ engagement change your influence over product selection? Are clients becoming more concerned about purchasing quality materials in the wake of these incidents?

ACA Roundtables are an opportunity for industry leaders to discuss issues and hear different points of view. A special invitation is also extended to associates from your company.
