Switch off the Lights!

21 January 2016

How do you shut down and architectural practice? The ACA presents two webinars on how to close the curtains and switch off the lights.

This is relevant to those baby boomers all done with surfing, rocking and boozing and the practice of architecture, and to younger architects heading off in search of new horizons and new opportunities.

On Wednesday 17 February 2016, a panel of lawyer, insurance broker and accountant will advise on how to shut down a business with minimum risk.

Speakers are:

  • Peter Hersh, partner in accounting firm Logicca
  • Jacqui Barrett, executive lawyer, Bartier Perry
  • Cameron Taylor, BJS Insurance Group

Topics will include legal requirements for ceasing business, finalising accounts, collecting outstanding invoices, run-on insurances, etc.

The following webinar – on Wednesday 13 April – will look at what, if any, records should go to museums or libraries, how to make the Federal Government your partner in cultural donations through tax deductability and what records to keep and what to destroy.

These are the webinars for all those thinking of retiring gracefully or otherwise, planning a career change or a sideways move. Both webinars will feature a panel of experts with plenty of time for questions and answers.
