The ACA presents an informative discussion panel around the management of an Architectural brief and the fees associated with a project. Briefs are seldom complete, if not missing altogether. How can our profession price without a brief; and more importantly, how can we manage our fee around a brief that is constantly evolving? The ACA has invited three professionals to discuss strategies to implement and pitfalls to avoid during project delivery.
Topics we will discuss include:
- Getting an architectural proposal and contract agreed – what should be in it?
- How to extract a brief and how to record it
- Milestone signoff
- Scope creep management
- Variation submission and best ways to represent yourself
- Hostile clients – how best to manage variations with them
The panel will include a large practice (Lawrence Toaldo, Conrad Gargett), small-medium practice (Mark Williams, Mark Williams Architects) and consulting services/builder (Darren Cardy, Ashburner Francis). The event will be moderated by David Brian (dwp Architects)
