Tour, lunch & talk
ACA – SA has a bumper event coming up on May 5 at the new SAHMRI building. Book now!
The event starts with a tour of the building for those interested. We will then lunch on site, with guest speaker Justine Clark addressing the topic “Architects and the New Media”.
SAHMRI
The new building by Woods Bagot for the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute is already garnering much attention for its striking form, environmental initiatives and an interior aimed at fostering a collaborative research culture. This is your chance to understand it in detail via a tour with the building’s architects.
Architects and the New Media
What opportunities do ‘new media’ offer architects and architecture? How can practices use these platforms to engage effectively with multiple audiences and to develop existing and new networks? What are the continuities and differences with traditional media? Justine Clark will consider these questions through her own experiences with both traditional and ‘new’ media, and her observations of how Australian architects are operating in this rapidly developing context.
Justine Clark is the editor of the ACA’s new website. An independent architectural editor, writer, critic and researcher, she works on a wide range of projects. Justine established and continues to edit Parlour: women, equity, architecture and is a former editor of Architecture Australia.
