Villa Maria
Join the ACA – Qld/NT on 19 March for a site tour of the Villa Maria aged-care facility.
Originally opened in 1928 as a convent, the Villa Maria complex is a distinctive example of Brisbane’s architectural history. This ambitious redevelopment has instilled new life into the building, creating a vibrant new facility sympathetic to the heritage value of this prominent landmark.
Damien Stokes and Julian Martinuzzi of Stokes Wheeler Pty Ltd will share some of their experiences during the construction of this complex redevelopment – the highs and lows, the discoveries and the unexpected challenges.
Kevin Gerrard and Andrew Ainsbury of Bickerton Masters Architecture will provide an overview of the challenges and opportunities presented throughout the design, approval and construction phases of the project.
There will also be an exclusive tour of Villa Maria.
