White Card Training

2 March 2017

ACA – SA has organised White Card training for staff of member practices.

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to 10 people only. ACA – SA offers subsidies of $45 each for the first two people registered from each member practice.

See below for details of how to register and claim subsidies.

What is the White Card?

The National Construction Induction Card, otherwise known as a White Card, is required to be held by those who:

  • Carry out construction work, including site managers and supervisors, surveyors, labourers and trades persons,
  • Access operational construction zones unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person
  • Whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones.

This nationally recognised card signifies that the person named on the card has completed training in WHS ‘General Induction for Construction’, which is compliant with the “National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work.”

The White Card is evidence of General Induction Training only. Employers will need to ensure that Site Induction and/or Task-Specific Induction is also provided.

What is WHS Construction Induction Training”

Construction safety awareness training is undertaken prior to commencing construction work. It includes general, site induction and task-specific training that meets the requirements of the Code of Practice and is completed to the satisfaction of the person delivering the training.

How is the White Card issued?

  • A Registered Training Organisations (RTO) will deliver training
  • The RTO will enter successful applicants details into database
  • The RTO will export information to SafeWork SA
  • SafeWork SA will organise for printing and issuing of the card
  • Applicant will received printed card 1 to 2 weeks after course

The RTO will issue a temporary card each successful candidate to enable them to work as soon as they have completed the training. This temporary card is valid for one month from the date of the course.
