Melbourne & Swinburne Universities join ACA Affiliate Program
The ACA is delighted to welcome the University of Melbourne and Swinburne University of Technology as the latest University Affiliates, continuing the strong momentum of this growing initiative to better connect architectural education with professional practice.
Following the inaugural participation of RMIT University and the Papua New Guinea University of Technology, and the subsequent inclusion of Monash University, the program is gaining traction across leading schools of architecture committed to strengthening pathways between academia and the profession.
Developed to help bridge the gap between education and practice, the ACA University Affiliate Program provides Schools of Architecture with curated resources, practical tools, and deeper engagement with the business side of architecture. It also supports academic staff and students in developing a stronger understanding of the realities of practice and the commercial, operational and strategic dimensions of the profession.
The University Affiliate program forms part of the ACA’s broader strategic focus on engagement, growth and meaningful collaboration across the sector. As the program expands, it reflects a shared recognition that preparing the next generation of architects requires stronger alignment between education and practice.
By joining the program, Melbourne and Swinburne Universities are enabling their academic teams and students to access ACA resources, insights and networks – supporting a practice-informed learning experience and strengthening pathways into the profession.
University Affiliate offer
The ACA offers an annual membership fee of $3,000 + GST for architecture schools for 12 months.
The fee covers all relevant academic staff, including sessional instructors, responsible for teaching architecture within the School. Once registered, the ACA works with the designated contact to provide access for the teaching team.
In addition, the ACA offers an Affiliate Student Membership. While the standard annual fee is $49, students at Affiliate Universities can join for $29 + GST.
As the program continues to grow, the ACA looks forward to working closely with all our Affiliate Universities to strengthen the connection between education and practice and to support the next generation of architectural professionals.
