NSW Practice Management Awards 2025

Emma Brain ,

The ACA NSW/ACT Committee was once again proud to award three Architecture students from the University of Western Sydney a cash prize for outstanding work in units related to Practice Management.

Noah Perez was awarded the ACA Undergraduate Award of $2000, while Emma Moore received the ACA Postgraduate Award of $3000.

ACA NSW/ACT Committee Member, Harry Hamer, attended the ceremony, commenting: “We know that technical expertise alone isn’t enough for architectural success. The ACA is committed to equipping our students and graduates with the business acumen and leadership capabilities essential for thriving in today’s complex practice environment.”

Both Emma and Noah spoke positively about their experience as students at UWS and their ambitions for the future:

I always wanted to become an architect and am still chasing that dream as I moved to UWS to complete my Master of Architecture. I chose architecture because growing up in a third-world country, I wanted to know how we can provide the same quality of life for people less fortunate than us. I wanted them to have the same opportunities and hopefully inspire them to make a change for the future. This reward means I can be somebody, and even in times where I thought my worth wasn’t enough, it was to somebody else. I hope everyone realises the power they unlock when graduating with their degree, the ability to make a difference in this world.

— Noah Perez

I grew up in the Hills District, which gave me a strong sense of connection to Western Sydney and its diverse communities. I dreamt of being in a position where I could contribute to reshaping Western Sydney as it continues to evolve, helping to create places that are sustainable, inclusive and responsive to the people who call the region home.

Receiving this award means so much to me as it recognises the hard work and dedication I have put into my studies. It’s an opportunity to continue growing as a designer while maintaining professional practice and giving back to the communities that have supported me. Having recently graduated, I plan to dive into full-time work and learn as much as possible to grow as a designer.

— Emma Moore

The ACA congratulates Emma and Noah and looks forward to following their future endeavours!
