CEO Report – June 2023
Two words that we have kept at the forefront of our efforts are ‘Relevant’ and ‘Practical’. I’ll refrain from naming our long list of achievements this past financial year, as a quick browse of my regular CEO reports will give you some clues. Instead, I’d like to share our commitment to ensuring that you, our members, are always at the core of what we do so we can provide relevant and practical support in a timely and responsive manner.
We hope you have found the ACA valuable in helping your business thrive and flourish. We thank you for being part of our mission.
A few highlights
Over the course of the year, our focus on member-centric services allowed us to listen carefully to your needs and how the changing business landscape required more support, from an expanded advisory helpdesk; well-timed industrial relations advice; an enhanced suite of practical tools, templates and contracts; and the delivery of relevant online forums to explore how other practices are navigating themes such as equity, mental wellbeing, First Nations understanding, directing a small business, and employer obligations.
Partnerships
Collaboration and partnerships have been instrumental in expanding our relevance and practicality. We actively engage in meaningful partnerships with like-minded organisations to share knowledge, resources, and expertise. Through our national partnerships program, we tap into new markets, access fresh perspectives, learn from each other and allow us to amplify our collective impact for the profession. A huge thank you to all our principal partners, Planned Cover, Deltek, Ardex Australia, Macquarie Bank, Central Innovation and ASSA ABLOY for continuing to assist the ACA in our advocacy and promoting better understanding of the business in architecture. To our knowledge partners, informed Lawyers and the Built Environment Channel, thank you for providing specialised content and expert commentary to the ACA on key industry topics relevant to architects. Finally, NATSPEC, we value your support of the Architects Mental Wellbeing Forum.
Thank you, team ACA!
As we prepare to wind up this financial year, I would like to thank the small but enthusiastic team that made it all happen. To our supportive national executive committee, led by our National President John Held, the dynamic branch committees, dedicated executive officers, together with our national MarComms, editorial, membership, partnerships and online events team, who have been an integral part of the ACA. We can’t do what we do without you!
