What to do to protect yourself

This cyber threat affects home networks as well as business networks. If you have an internet connection at home, here are the basic actions you should take:

  • Regularly update your network devices – look up software updates or firmware updates and install them on NAS, routers, firewalls, WIFI or any other network connected device.
  • Check how old your devices are: if they are no longer supported because they are too old, replace them or get them off the network.
  • Don’t allow access to your home network.
