Professional Services Subcontract
The Professional Services Subcontract has undergone a major update (September 2025) and is available for members to use when back-to-back provisions are required to pass through rights and obligations of the Head Contract to the Subconsultant.
The previous version focused on the back to back provisions, leaving the Lead Consultant (the Architect) to supply other required terms and conditions. This update addresses many more elements and is a more comprehensive framing of the contractual relationship.
The development of the subcontract update was a jointly funded initiative of the ACA South Australia and Victoria/Tasmania branches and led by George Theodoridis, Chair of the ACA IR Committee and member of the ACA VIC/TAS Committee; and Mario Dreosti, ACA SA President. It was developed in partnership with Mills Oakley and Planned Cover.
Note: Architects may wish to reformat the contract terms by changing logos, fonts, and so on. However, it is important that they retain the clause numbering and indent structure in the contract terms.
