Site Visit: Hervey Bay Community Hub
The ACA QLD/NT invites you to join a guided site visit of one of the most significant pieces of regional civic infrastructure to come to Queensland in recent years.
The Hervey Bay Community Hub designed by Cottee Parker/Bloc Design and delivered by Hansen Yuncken for Fraser Coast Regional Council, is a building that sets a new benchmark for what community infrastructure can be, consolidating a public library, council offices, a disaster resilience centre and new council chambers into a single, thoughtfully resolved civic hub in the heart of Hervey Bay.
1:oopm – 2:30pm: Site Visit
3:00pm – 5:00pm: Networking Drinks at Enzo’s by the Beach
5:00pm – late: Dinner at Enzo’s by the Beach (optional)
The site visit runs from 1:00pm to 2:30pm and offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at a major project before it opens to the public. You will have the opportunity to walk the building with project specialists from Cottee Parker and Bloc Design, hear directly from those who designed and delivered it, and see first-hand how the design responds to the Fraser Coast community, from the new public plaza on Main Street and the pedestrian link through to Pialba parklands, to the flexible library spaces, makerspace, digital studios and community rooms within.
After the tour, we invite you to join us at Enzos on the Beach for drinks, a snack and some networking. Those who wish to stay on for dinner from 5:00pm are warmly welcome to do so at their own cost.
Whether your interest lies in architecture, civic planning, engineering or to discover more about what thoughtful regional design looks like in practice, this is an afternoon worth making the trip for.
Numbers are limited – please register your interest early to secure your place.
