Medium Density Policy in WA
The WA branch has been leading a series of initiatives aimed at engaging the architecture profession with the State Government’s draft Medium Density Code. We believe that it’s time to place our profession at the centre of conversation about the future of our cities and communities.
The new draft Medium Density Policy is the biggest shift in housing in WA in the last 30 years. It encompasses a variety of housing typologies, from single houses through to low-rise apartments. It aims to deliver more liveable, sustainable, diverse housing and provide a better standard of living for the community.
In collaboration with the Australian Institute of Architects, the WA branch has made a short film featuring some of the designers who worked with DesignWA to shape this policy. We encourage you to watch, take notes, read up and have your say about the most important change to planning policy in 30 years. Comments close on Friday 16 April.
